Women's Health Programs
HERC's Breast and Cervical Cancer Programs:
- Information and education pertaining to breast and cervical cancer
- Comprehensive training for women in Bayview Hunters Point on the technique of “Breast Self-Examination”
- A team of community volunteers to reach women with information & resources concerning breast & cervical cancer
- Encourage early detection, screening, diagnosis,& treatment for women who are at high risk for breast & cervical cancer
including the community
The Community Health Education component of our work teaches residents about environmental factors influencing their health in a group setting.
Presentations are made to community-based
