Advocacy

As part of our mission to make Bayview Hunters Point a healthier place for all, HERC addresses health issues in a variety of ways, including advocacy.

We must often call attention to practices and policies that affect our community’s well-being. We encourage positive developments, such as the closure of older, more polluting power plants, and we oppose harmful activities, such as potential harm from spraying to exterminate the light brown apple moth.

Through advocacy, HERC ensures that Bayview Hunters Point gets the attention it deserves from public officials, media, and the public at large.

Watch this page for information on our efforts to speak up and speak out!
