Hunters Point Health and Environmental Resource Center (HERC)
incorporates
the Community First objective of “community involvement”
in its program philosophy. HERC will
utilize the African American Health
Initiative’s innovative, Afro-centered approaches to
motivate men to take a more active role in improving their
health, the health of their families and neighborhoods. This
will occur through opening community dialogue, taking a stand
on issues, and pooling strengths, resources, and energy in
order to reach men who may be hesitant to focus on their own
health. |
