POSITION TITLE: Administrative Assistant
FTE: Full Time
Starting Salary: $30,000 - $35,000
Organization Background: Bayview Hunters Point Health and Environmental Resource Center (HERC) is a community-driven nonprofit organization designed to promote the health and wellness of residents. Information and education on pediatric asthma, early detection of breast, cervical and prostate cancer are core competencies of HERC. A major goal is to empower residents on how to improve their quality of life in the Bayview Hunters Point Community using environmental issues as a focal point. The office hours are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities: Under supervision of the executive director, the administrative assistant (AA) will perform the following duties: Provide computer technology training and support to staff on our Information System (IS), develop and implement IS routing procedures, create program databases, develop; implement and monitor payroll systems, plan; organize; implement and monitor HERC’s website, provide supervision for administrative staff, setup and monitor accounting system, assist executive director with researching grant development; grant development and grant negotiation, assist with orientation for new staff, prepare letters, reports and maintain departmental records on all aspects of the organization. Must be able to assume organizational management in the absence of the executive director.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Must have advanced computer technology skills and ability to use QuickBooks.
Must have strong organizational and strategic planning skills. Must have knowledge
of how to manage using a team approach. Must have ability to manage innovation
and organizational changes. Must have the ability to motive people using various
reward systems (to be developed and implemented by AA)
Must have ability to pay attention to small details. Must have an understanding, and sensitivity to the social, ethnic, and socioeconomic factors affecting under-served communities.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of business school course in business administration or five years
experience working in business administration. Applicant must be able to demonstrate
mastery of computer technology including database. Resident of 94124 zip code
preferred.
