HERC Release Program (HRP)

 

HERC Release Project Vision

The Bayview Hunters Point Health and Environmental Resource Center (HERC) promotes the quality of medical care, education, nutrition, activities and advancing the positive impact of the HRP clients. HERC Release Project will decrease the risk factors for chronic diseases:

  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Heart Disease
  • Cancer
  • Emotional Distress

HERC Asthma Camp Mission is:

  • Develop initiatives to target high-risk children and give them the opportunity to learn about activities and nutrition
  • Provide health education (Teach health education to the children to manage their weight and nutrition)
  • Provide activities (exercise) to increase mobility and decrease weight

Purpose of HERC Release Project (HRP)

The purpose of HRP is to promote the quality of healthy lifestyle health education, nutrition, activities and advancing the positive impact of obese children and families.

Objectives of HERC Release Project (HRP):

  • To provide obese children and families with exercise education and referrals.
  • To provide professional medical attention for the children by Dr. Burke and Dr. Bennett. 
    For the adults Dr. Wlodarczyk and Dr. Ghaly provide their services.
  • To promote improved self-care, self-image and independence for children with asthma.
